Rooting for the Future! nearly 2,000 trees planted

Ojai Trees in action with volunteers from Ojai oy Scout troop 3502.

Since we were founded in 2008 by Tom Bostrom, Ojai landscape architect and visionary, all-volunteer nonprofit Ojai Trees has planted 1,945 trees throughout the Valley gracing yards, streets, schools and parks.

What does this accomplishment mean?

It means that Ojai has:

  • More shade during blisteringly hot summer days.

  • More green, leafy beauty.

  • More birds, butterflies, hummingbirds.

  • Sometimes more fruit for humans, too!

  • More carbon and air pollution absorbed.

  • More stormwater diverted into the ground.

  • More oxygen produced.

And...with 7,276 volunteer hours donated, it means there's been a lot of community spirit, hard work, education and fun in the process.

With old trees coming down, the Ojai Valley continually needs new ones to take root to replace them. You can be part of that effort. Join as a volunteer in one of Ojai Trees' four annual tree planting events, and/or order a tree for your own property.

Join us by ordering a tree to be planted on your property https://ojaitrees.org/order-a-tree  or sign up as a tree planting volunteer https://ojaitrees.org/get-involved! Spring 2024 planting dates are:

Saturday, March 16 (tree order deadline March 6)

Saturday, April 20 (tree order deadline April 10)

Help a better future take root!
